Jon Maybey’s Secret Notes is a musical collective. A folk-rock outfit with the flexibility to perform as a 6-piece band or downsize to a trio or duo for smaller venues.
They play original and traditional songs and tunes with bursts of reggae, blues or eastern European influences.

Jon Maybey’s Secret Notes are;
Rosie Eade: vocal, whistle, acoustic guitar and alto saxophone.
Ben Weedon: violin, viola and vocal.
Marnie: vocal and acoustic guitar.
Steve Gill: electric bass.
David North: drums, mandolin, keyboards and guitar.
Jon Maybey: electric guitar, mandolin and ‘live’ loops.

“It’s great to have flexibility in a band.
Whilst the full band is a joy to watch and listen to, it can also operate in a small venue or an event with a tight budget. Also, It’s not always possible for the 5 musicians to be available all the time! The ability to downsize or call on a substitute musician keeps the show alive.
This flexible approach was necessary throughout the pandemic which is when the band developed a method to make it work. It’s given us a large repertoire of original and traditional songs and instrumentals to work with. Frequent rehearsals keep us up to speed and prepared for any event. We can walk on to a large festival stage or somebody’s living room and guarantee a great performance!
